Upon arriving at Snip Farmhouse, guests would be forgiven for thinking that they have stepped into a serene, original island stone farmhouse from days-gone-by. Elegantly restored, it blends contemporary comfort with peerless old-world charm. Cladded in original stone, it is steeped with local flavour and preserved natural beauty.
Stepping outside, the courtyard style garden is framed by prettily swaying palms, with the sleek pool taking centrepiece, together with chic stone-built dining terrace, and when the moment calls for it, heading up to the upper floor terrace for cocktail hour will see guests enjoying stunning views as the sun softens over the rolling and rugged hills.
Guests will immediately have a sense of arriving at an authentic home-from-home, warm, ambient, cosy and characterised by exposed natural stone-work, natural timber beams, original farmhouse architecture and timeless appeal.
Understated, yet elegant, Snip Farmhouse makes for a wonderful base for a family or group of 6+1 set across three bedrooms and three bathrooms. Understated, chic, yet low-key, the living spaces align with the island’s pace of life and natural charm.
Executed to offer a cooling space in the summer months and insulated warmth in the winter, the interiors at this home are characterised by the timeless arches offering a Moorish-Arabo touch. Simplicity, elegance and understated style are the hallmarks of this chic retreat. Stylish open plan living features natural tones offset with accents of sedate designer touches, while the stone courtyard garden comes to life thanks to the vividly flowering bougainvillaea.
Quality, yet unpretentious charm, greet guests at every turn, stunning tiled bathrooms, genteel lighting, antique timber writing desks and sophisticated yet rustic living spaces offer an array of options, whilst the outdoors offer a series of choice, whether it be balmy evenings enjoying seafood barbecues or glorious solitude with a good holiday read under the shade of the parasol, this home has it all covered.
Snip Farmhouse blends Gozitan charm, timeless farmhouse chic, a touch of Italianate courtyard living and lovingly preserved original interiors just a short distance from the picturesque Xaghra with its rich heritage and proximity to stunning Ramla Bay.

Location:
Snip Farmhouse is nestled in a tranquil spot just a short distance from the historical town of Xaghra on the eastern side of the stunning Gozo island. Malta’s little sister, Gozo is known for offering a less commercial experience, a slower pace of life and intriguing heritage. Accessible via ferry (25-minute crossings every 45 minutes from the northernmost tip of Malta), the island covers an area of only 26² miles
Brimming with authentic local village life, original fishing villages and local crafts and endless stretches of coastline with clear, calm waters, it is a haven from the pace of modern life and the bustle of crowds.
Among Xaghra’s historical gems is the intriguing UNESCO World Heritage Ġgantija temple complex, (dating from as early as 3600BC), while the Ta’ Kola Windmill is a restored eighteenth-century windmill, with an original mechanism and restored miller’s living quarters, it makes for a fascinating visit and insight into the island’s history.
Victoria is the capital (also known as Rabat), and it offers sumptuous seafood dining, flower-filled piazzas for people-watching as well as the sublime Villa Rundle Gardens.
Steeped in mythology, Gozo is thought to be the legendary Calypso’s island of Homer’s Odyssey: baroque churches, limestone buildings and old stone farmhouses pepper the countryside. With a rugged coastline, excellent dive sites and excursions by boat across the Archipelago, this unique island packs a punch in a small and understated way.
Pretty, rural, green and full of local flavour, this island sets the scene for a memory-making trip at a pace apart from modern life.
