For those looking to plan a phenomenal Colorado getaway without being overwhelmed by the opulence of the state’s more upscale resort areas, Breckenridge offers a delightful alternative. Combining excellent ski runs, unparalleled views, and a dense historic district, this former mining town is an affordable and often stunning destination for visiting families.
Skiing is the main attraction of course, with a number of excellent ski runs built into Breckenridge’s gorgeous alpine vistas. For families looking for some non-ski related adventures, the old Country Boy Mine offers guided tours as well as activities, such as panning for gold and a donkey petting zoo, which should keep kids engaged and entertained. In the town’s historic district, visitors can further explore a dynamic, old mining town, with log cabins and palatial estates still lining the streets. At the end of a long day of exploring, travelers can sip craft beer at any of the several craft breweries in the area, and a craft distillery offers spirits straight from the source.
And when you feel like you’ve exhausted your list of things to do, be sure to consult our knowledgeable concierges. This is where we excel at giving you the most authentic Breckenridge experience.
