If you’re only desire is to soak up the sun, you’re in luck! Maui is home to several beaches that have been named “America’s Best Beach” over the years. No matter if you want to bodysurf, explore tide pools, relax with a picnic, swim or laze on the powder-fine sand, Maui has it all. Those interested in more active pursuits on the water will have their choice of alluring adventures, including windsurfing, kitesurfing, scuba diving, snorkeling, surfing, parasailing, and countless other activities. Although the magnificent beaches are definitely worth a large share of your time, the rainforests, waterfalls, verdant canyons, and volcanoes also beg to be explored and experienced.
The natural wonders of Hawaii pair perfectly with the spirited cultural scene. Museums, National Parks, Heritage Sites and art galleries abound across the islands and invite you to absorb the rich history of Hawaii. Drive the historic road to Hana to experience a taste of historic Hawaii. The long and winding road is a popular attraction but there are more than a few detours if you need a break from the scenic route; jump into a crystal clear pool at the foot of a waterfall, watch the surfers brave epic waves, or stop at a roadside fruit stand for a refreshing treat. Hana itself welcomes you with the unspoiled beauty of its rugged coastline and the quaint charm of the village. What else can you do in Hawaii? Tour the coffee plantations, visit wildlife refuges, explore ancient villages, and peruse praised museums. No matter your interests, Maui sparks a love for the island life in all who visit.

VIEW LISTThe island of Maui has both rain forests and desert conditions. Wailea is located at the base of Mt. Haleakala, which shelters the area from wind and rain. The location is known for its sunny and dry climate. The average yearly rainfall is 7.2 inches (mostly during the winter months); Hana receives about 90 inches per year while mountain areas may get over 300 inches. The constant trade wind breezes keep Maui’s temperature very comfortable. The winds are usually from the northeast at about 5 to 15 miles per hour, and they naturally cool the air. Trade winds are nearly always calm in the morning hours. Kona Winds come in the opposite direction of the trade winds and usually indicate bad weather is soon to arrive.
