DETAILS & AMENITIES

For a truly authentic stay in the Amalfi coast, Nerano’s Villa Onda Blu offers the most beautiful vistas of the sea as well as a wonderful swimming pool, set on the Sorrento peninsula. Here you are only 550m from a highly regarded restaurant with two Michelin stars and a short distance to the restaurants and beach at Marina del Cantone.

Indeed, this exclusive villa feels like a small corner of paradise, far away from the tourist crowds of nearby Sorrento and Positano (although Italians know all about this idyllic coastline). With its welcoming air-conditioned interiors and incredible sea views from its terraces, as well as the gorgeous garden and raised swimming pool, this villa is an ideal place for a relaxing holiday with family or friends.

In a perched position, the main accommodation is spread across the top two floors of the villa with a spacious dining and living room with French doors leading out to the main terrace perfect for al-fresco dining and lounging. On the upper floor there are three bedrooms including an especially magical master en suite double with its own private terrace looking out towards Li Galli Island.

For 6-10 guests, the lower-level self-contained annexe is also included, perhaps perfect for accompanying grandparents or friends, with its own living space, kitchenette, bedroom and jacuzzi bath, not to mention yet more opportunities to embrace the lovely surroundings.

Make the most of services that can be arranged and enjoy breakfast on your terrace as the birds sing or a private chef service accompanied by good local wine as you gaze at the most romantic sunsets.

Follow the road down to the coast and soak up the seaside ambience of Marina del Cantone. There are some excellent restaurants here, another one with a Michelin star and one beachside establishment that featured in Stanley Tucci’s ‘Searching for Italy’ when he spoke about his love for ‘Spaghetti alla Nerano’. After sunbathing at one of the summer lidos on the beach, keen walkers should follow the stunning walking path to Spiaggia di Recommone.

Of course, you are also well positioned for venturing to Sorrento, Positano and other gems of the Amalfi coast either by car driving along the winding roads so typical of this region or look out for boat tours, a fantastic way to appreciate the beauty of the Amalfi coast and even the island of Capri.

Location:

At the tip of the Sorrento peninsula, Villa Onda Blu enjoys the most wonderful sea views from its perched position in Nerano directly above the pretty south-facing beach at Marina del Cantone. There is a tennis court 100m away that guests can use on a complimentary basis (guests should book in advance and the owners can provide rackets and balls).

Nerano has gained quite a reputation for its gastronomy, and it is home to a 2* Michelin restaurant just 550m away (if walking, note there is no pavement), the perfect spot to pre-book a special meal in refined and artistic surroundings with more magnificent vistas or simply enjoy an aperitivo in its elegant bar.

Drive down to the beach at Marina del Cantone (1.5km) for more enticing restaurants – this is where Stanley Tucci watched ‘Spaghetti alla Nerano’ being prepared as a storm rolled in from the sea in his captivating ‘Searching for Italy’ series. The pebbly beach is very picturesque and especially loved by Italians in the summer months with its lidos and sun-loungers (as the tourist’s head more towards Positano and Sorrento). There’s another Michelin starred restaurant here as well as a handful of cafes and bars, a grocery store and hotels. Keen walkers note that there is an idyllic coastal footpath that leads to the gorgeous beach at Recommone, the next bay along.

This part of the peninsula offers some exquisite diving opportunities as well as many more walking and hiking trails leading to the Marine Reserve of Punta Campanella. This is also a great base for visiting other important areas in the region such as Massa Lubrense, Sorrento (17km) and Positano (24km) alongside several picture-perfect beaches, exquisite restaurants and the most glorious views of the Sorrento Peninsula and Amalfi coast.
