Žminj, a small and traditional town at the heart of Istria, offers an abundance of local flavor. Formerly part of Italy, Istria retains many Italian influences, known for its simple way of life, preserved nature, and picturesque coastal towns and islands.
The old stone town center of Žminj boasts a beautiful church, while the newer part extends into the valley. This region offers a traditional and rustic lifestyle, with local families producing their own vegetables, fruit, and wine, contributing to the wonderful Istrian cuisine.
Žminj hosts popular folk festivities such as Bartulja, dedicated to St. Bartholomew, offering vibrant insights into local traditions. Other traditional events include the Chakavian Assembly and the Harmonica Wedding.
