Casa Catadoiro is a very large, traditional villa located in the center of Sanxenxo, just 300m from the glorious main beach. The villa enjoys wonderful outside space with a swimming pool and a built-in barbecue, perfect for delicious alfresco suppers while enjoying a magical location.
Sanxenxo is located in the O Salnes region of Galicia, 15km from Pontevedra and south of the beautiful seaside town of Cambados, the wine capital of Galicia. Sanxenxo is bathed by the Atlantic Ocean in the estuaries of Pontevedra and Arousa. It has been dubbed the ‘Marbella of Galicia’ with its busy modern marina, a bustling waterfront and a town brimming with restaurants and bars.
Casa Catodoiro enjoys 8 spacious bedroom suites sleeping 16 guests though there are 4 extra beds that can be used to increase this to 20. The living space is open plan in design with a huge dining table that can accommodate your group. Having said that, you are likely to enjoy many barbecues in the garden or you may visit many of the fabulous seafood restaurants that the town is proud of. The kitchen offers good appliances.
The bedrooms enjoy double or twin beds which are mostly pushed together. The sleeping arrangements are flexible and extra beds can be added, ideally for children. The rooms are comfortable and enjoy pretty characters with floral wallpapers and individual color schemes. This villa enjoys an amazing 10 bathrooms, 8 for the bedrooms and two-family bathrooms. They are all well-maintained and modern with a mix of showers and baths.
Casa Catodoiro boasts a delightful garden with an enclosed swimming pool which is very safe for children. The pool is large and is surrounded by loungers and chairs, perfect to relax and enjoy the Galician sunshine. Alfresco dining can be enjoyed, shaded from the sun, using the villa’s built-in barbecue. There are lawns and mature shrubs making the garden a wonderful space to relax in at the end of a busy day.

Casa Catadoiro is located in the centre of the delightful town of Sanxenxo, just 50m from restaurants and bars and only 300m from the beach. Praia de Silgar is a fine, sandy, vibrant beach stretching west from the dazzling marina development in the middle of the sea front. Further west, towards Portonovo, you will find another beach, the dune-backed Praia de Baltar. It is quieter than the main town beach. To the east, Praia de Areas, is another sandy gem. Sanxenxo is very popular with the Galicians themselves. Many residents of Pontevedra and Vigo take their holidays in Sanxenxo. Sanxenxo is spotless and offers great tourist amenities.
The Rias Baixas are a series of four estuarine inlets, the Ria de Muros e Noia, the Ria de Arousa, the Ria de Pontevedra and the Ria de Vigo. Sanxenxo is at the top of the Ria de Pontevedra. The Rias are rich in marine life and are beautiful to explore. They boast more towns, villages and restaurants than other stretches of the Galician coast. Guests will enjoy superb seafood and can visit the lovely towns of Pontevedra and Vigo as well as the quaint albarino wine capital Cambados and trips to the offshore islands. The Rias Baixes beaches are stunning with a good range of watersports on the larger beaches and peace and intimacy on the hidden little coves. Though chilly, the waters are generally calm. Other than the beaches in Sanxenxo and close to it, you may want to visit Playa de la Lanzada, one of Galicia’s best beaches. It offers over 3km of dazzling white sand and clear blue sea backed by stunning dunes. The sky lights up in all shades of pink, orange and red at sunset. The picturesque Playa Area das Pipas enjoys delightful rocks and tide pools and is lined with fragrant pine trees. The beaches on Illas Cies are spectacular.
Pontevedra is a beautiful, well-preserved old town. Brimming with beautiful buildings, interlocking narrow lanes and picturesque plazas, it combines history, culture and style. It is a great place to shop, dine and sightsee. The town’s Gothic Santa Maria la Mayor Basilica is stunning.
Cambados, the capital of the albarino wine country and just north of Casa Catadoiro, is actually a fusion of three medieval villages, Fefinans at the north end of town, Cambados proper in the middle and the fishing quarter of Santo Tome in the south. It is comprised of ancient streets lined with beautiful stone architecture and sprinkled with inviting taverns and restaurants.
A popular place to visit is Ermita de San Sebastian on the Isla de la Toja. It is a dreamy place with millions of scallop shells adorning its beautiful little church. You may also want to look at the famous Camino de Santiago pilgrimage trail and Santiago de Compostela. This interesting city enjoys magnificent stone architecture and a famous cathedral. The skirl of bagpipes might make you think you are in Scotland. The town’s charming restaurants and bars specialize in fine delicious Galician seafood and local wines.
