Set in a Mediterranean garden, Villa Lustica offers lots of outside space, with a spacious sun terrace around the pool. A lovely, vine-covered dining terrace and a covered terrace with games area provide more spaces to relax, plus you have a barbecue and comfy hammock.
Inside, you have an open-plan area with tiled floor, incorporating a lounge with sofas and fireplace, as well as a dining table and chairs. There is also a kitchen equipped with large fridge freezer, dishwasher, microwave and more. Plenty of cookware and dinnerware is provided too. The upper terrace offers yet more space and is directly accessible from this area.
The house has four bedrooms. One has a king-size bed, one has a queen-size bed, and there are two twin rooms. All are very comfortable, but the master bedroom is particularly special. Occupying the whole of the top floor, it includes a sitting room with TV and mini-fridge and enjoys wonderful mountain views from the balcony on three sides. Each bedroom has the use of its own bathroom.
The village of Bogišići lies around 20 minutes from upscale Tivat, with its marina packed with high-end restaurants, stores and entertainment venues. Well worth visiting around the Bay of Kotor are pretty Perast, a quieter town with an idyllic waterfront, and the Old Town of Kotor itself, home to picturesque palaces, churches and public squares. The superb Lovćen National Park is also not far away, occupying a large area east of Kotor.

Location:
Several of Montenegro’s notable destinations lie on or close to the magnificent Bay of Kotor. The city of Kotor itself is one such highlight. Its magnificent location by the Skurda Canyon gives it real presence – and makes it a favorite with cruise-ship day trippers. Once there, you can enjoy watersports on the river, or venture into the medieval Old Town with its numerous churches and landmark St Tryphon’s Cathedral.
Kotor is big on places of historical interest, such as the Venetian Sea Gate and the Kampana Tower and Citadel which kept the city safe in centuries gone by. A visit will reward you with an amazing view and there’s even a café there these days. You can pop into the 17th-century Pima Palace for free – this regal building now incorporates a gallery. Also, look out for the city’s street cats and the cute museum dedicated to them.
With its Monaco-like vibe, trendy Tivat is the place to see and be seen on the Bay of Kotor. As glam as it gets, this town is known for its marina, nightlife and upmarket dining and shopping. For a completely different feel, make your way around the bay to peaceful Perast.
While it’s only a tiny town, Perast is a super-picturesque one – numerous palaces and churches give it architectural interest and provide a lovely backdrop to the regular festivals the town hosts. A boat trip out to the Our Lady of the Rocks island, where you will find a chapel, is another favorite with visitors.
Another spectacular island, albeit a private one, is Sveti Stefan, further down the coast to the south of Budva. You won’t be able to visit it unless you are staying there, but the view is good enough to make the trip.
Budva itself, about 15 minutes north, is Montenegro’s biggest visitor destination. While this certainly means ‘touristy’ in places, there is an impressive Old Town that’s worth a visit. Some of it is not so old, having been rebuilt after a significant earthquake in the late 1970s. A huge range of restaurants and nightlife options, as well as the biggest waterpark in the Balkans, are among Budva’s calling cards – but it’s not the best place to find peace and quiet.
For that, you have some amazing areas of natural beauty in Montenegro. You will feel you have uncovered some lesser-known gems when you visit the National Parks of Lovćen, Durmitor or Lake Skadar. From Bogišići, Lovćen is easily the closest – it’s the black mountain of this particular park which gave the country its name.
