Immerse yourself in the character of Le Marche whilst staying in understated luxury at this beautiful villa set in the rolling hills of Macerata, close to idyllic villages, historic towns and the beaches of the Adriatic coastline.
This recently restored farmhouse for up to 10 guests is over 250 years old yet there’s a contemporary and minimalist vibe across its calming and wonderfully designed interiors. Presented as two apartments rented as a whole, guests can expect a refined sense of style with a perfect mix of traditional and modern furnishings alongside touches of vintage charm. On the ground floor an especially spacious living-dining and kitchen allows for sociable gatherings, whilst upstairs there’s a pretty kitchen and lounge perfect for simple breakfasts and good coffee.
Time stands still as you gaze out to the hills of vineyards and farmland surrounding you, so typical of Le Marche’s verdant landscapes. Seek shade by the olive trees with a good book before working out in the fitness room, then cool off in the stylish swimming pool with such glorious views.
Gather together with family and friends as you dine al-fresco under the pergola with home-made pizza from the wood-burning oven or allow the local cook to create some traditional Le Marche fare such as Lasagna Vincisgrassi served alongside wine produced from local vineyards.
Discover restaurants, café-bars and gelaterias just over a 5-minute drive away in local villages or drive to Macerata, home to one of Italy’s oldest universities, with its grand piazza, medieval lanes and Sferisterio arena which hosts an annual opera festival in August.
Then there’s the beaches of the Adriatic close by whether you’re seeking summer lidos, walks and cycle rides along the coastal promenade or beachside restaurants serving freshly caught fish and brodetto. A little further afield towards Ancona, the Riviera del Conero is a must-see with its idyllic hard-to-reach bays, canoeing and sailing opportunities, private boat excursions and superb hiking and cycling trails.
Away from the coast, there’s a wealth of enchanting hilltop villages, further historic towns and undulating landscapes of hills growing vines, sunflowers and olives – Le Marche seems to magically capture the outstanding natural beauty and cultural richness of central Italy.

Location:
Set in Le Marche’s hills, surrounded by vineyards and farmland, and only a 15-minute drive to Macerata and the beaches of Civitanova Marche, Il Brumale is an ideal base for exploring the region’s beautiful villages, towns, beachside resorts and stunning natural landscapes. It’s also an especially popular area with cyclists with trails very close to the villa.
It’s just over a 5-minute drive to two local villages where you will find a handful of restaurants as well as inviting gelaterias and café-bars. There are also supermarkets within a short drive as well as other useful amenities.
The beaches of the Adriatic can be found in and around Civitanova Marche, just under 15 minutes by car. In this former fishing village find summer beachside restaurants along its long stretches of sandy shores as well as many other restaurants and shops in the town itself. The long promenade is perfect for leisurely walks and cycling (it continues to other beach resorts on the Adriatic coast) and the fishing port is an atmospheric spot to wander around. There are both private and public areas of the beach – in the summer it’s a popular part of the coast with beach clubs where you can rent sun-loungers and umbrellas for the day.
Further south is Porto Sant’Elpidio, connected to Civitanova Marche via the coastal promenade, with its shady pine forests whilst Porto San Giorgio is well-known for its picturesque beaches and good range of restaurants – make sure you try the local speciality, brodetto (fish stew). You will also find a number of shoe retail outlets dotted around this area – Le Marche’s shoe industry is based around Porto Sant’Elpidio.
Just over half an hour away is the start of the Riviera delle Palme and its fantastic beaches around Pedaso, then continuing on to Cupra Marittima and Grottammare where you can soak up the atmosphere by the palm-fringed promenade and partake in plenty of beachside activities.
For wilder surroundings, the incredible Riviera del Conero is around a 45-minute drive north, home to the Parco Regionale Naturale del Conero, a stunning place for hard-to-reach beaches, hiking and cycling trails, horse-riding and watersports such as canoeing, sailing, diving and stand-up paddle boarding. Why not book a boat excursion, a superb way to discover the spectacular scenery of this coastline.
Of course, Le Marche is also home to so many idyllic hilltop villages, enticing vineyards and historic towns – Il Brumale is only a 15-minute drive from the heart of Macerata, famed for its annual opera festival in August and home to one of Italy’s oldest universities. Fermo and Loreto are other Le Marche gems to spend time in or visit picture-perfect villages such as Civitanova Alta, San Ginesio and Sarnano.
The Parco Nazionale dei Monti Sibillini, around an hour away, is also home to historic villages and the most wonderful Le Marche landscapes, a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts with its hiking, mountain biking, horse-riding and so much more.
