Zezevika is very quiet and peaceful, boasting a beautiful natural and unspoiled environment. Within the Biokovo Natural Park, the only sounds you are likely to hear are the birds. The Biokovo Mountain and park are just perfect for those that love the outdoors and enjoying sensational views. The nearest beaches are Brela and Baska Voda. The uniqueness of Brela lies in its calmness, and everyone is incredibly relaxed with no disturbing sounds, no hurry, just simple beauty. Baska Voda is a delightful resort with a pretty promenade lined with restaurants and shops and a stunning beach.
Time stands still at Villa Bonjo. The villa offers a unique charm with olde world ambience. Decorations and furniture from a time gone by blend with ancient beams and exposed stonework, creating a warm and inviting space. You will enjoy a very comfortable stay with all modern comforts. The living room creates feelings of nostalgia. The set up is unusual, with two-day beds decorated with pretty cushions facing a lovely feature fireplace. The delightful arched windows fill the room with light. The living room leads through to the dining room with its country dining table and chairs and stairs leading to the first floor. A fully fitted kitchen allows the chef to prepare a feast that can be eaten inside or out. Also downstairs is a twin bedroom with lovely views of the pool and garden and an attractive, modernised family bathroom.
The stairs are decorated with pretty tiles and lead to a lovely gallery where you can lounge on the sofa, pick up your holiday, read, or watch some television. There is a further family bathroom with a shower and a bath with massage and the second bedroom. This enjoys a double bed and another fabulous arched window with superb garden views. Though this villa offers the charm of days gone by, the artwork is a real mix of antique and modern work. You will find lovely colour pops brightening the walls, blending beautifully with the rich, wooden floors and furniture.
The outside social areas and gardens are where this unique villa comes into its own. May and June are probably the best time to visit to see the garden totally in bloom though there are colour and interest all year round. Set on and around rocky terrain, this garden is very special. The private 32 sqm swimming pool has been cleverly built with tiled and decked surrounds. The pool offers a heating and cooling system, a geyser, massage and a counter-current swimming programme. It is even more beautiful when illuminated at night. It is surrounded by loungers and cosy chairs as well as stunning, mature planting. Next to the pool is a very attractive pond full of fish and turtles. Your children will love feeding them! There is a very pleasing outdoor kitchen with alfresco dining and a further alfresco dining area closer to the villa. Location:
Villa Bonjo is located in the wonderful, natural, rural Biokovo Natural Park at Zezevika. You will relax and enjoy stunning mountain and countryside views in complete privacy. The garden of Villa Bonjo and its pool is so wonderful you will find it hard to leave! The Dalmatian coastline is roughly half an hour away, the closest beaches being at Brela. There is more than 7km of stunning coastline, much of it lined by trees.
Just down the coast towards Makarska is the delightful, historical village of Baska Voda. It is small and peaceful with a port and a popular beach. Once a humble fishing village, its beach, pine woods and lovely setting have made it a favourite with families. Numerous souvenir shops, friendly cafes and cosy restaurants line the pretty promenade, filled with the sound of music and laughter. Close by, and you can visit the lovely villages of Bast and Topici, known for their artisanal cheese, prosciutto and bread. You can also take an easy walk along to Promajna and the little fisherman’s village of Bratus.
Croatia boasts a fascinating history which is clearly evident when visiting the historic towns of Split and Omis. The beautiful buildings in Split look as though they have just emerged from a fantasy novel. The town combines honeycombs of these intricate historical buildings with a cosmopolitan, palm-lined promenade offering tourists a fabulous experience. The atmospheric, narrow streets are brimming with dramatic monuments, charming restaurants, cafes, bars and a good variety of shops.
Omis is known as the City of Pirates, situated at the mouth of the Cetina River. Omis is home to many churches, the 13th century Fortress Mirabella and the 15th-century Fortress Starigrad, excellent shops and a renowned selection of gourmet restaurants serving fresh, locally caught fish and speciality smoked ham. In summer, the Klapa Festival is a wonderful spectacle with capella singing in churches and squares in the old town.
For an action-packed adventure, you can head to the Cetina River. The amazing calcareous canyon is ideal for canyoning, with its cliff face reaching up to 180 metres and a warren of tunnels, waterfalls, and lakes. Extreme canyoning with experienced instructors and professional alpine gear involves descending down the Gubavica Waterfall. You can also challenge yourselves on the incredible zipline that crosses the canyon 150 metres off the ground. For something more sedate, you can paddle down the pretty river in canoes or kayaks, enjoying the breathtaking natural scenery and perhaps a picnic by the side of the river. Just north of the village of Kucice, you can ride in giant inflatable doughnuts and descend down the small river rapids. Starting at Pensici and finishing at Radmanove Mlinice, you can have a day to remember family white water rafting. You can also soar high above the river and town from Imber on a paragliding trip.
