DETAILS & AMENITIES

The owners of this beautifully converted 4-bedroom farmhouse in Gascony invite discerning holidaymakers to experience the character and beauty of their home and swimming pool exclusively, situated within a splendid estate offering views of the rolling Gers countryside.

Just a short cycle ride or drive from Marciac, renowned for its famous summer jazz festival, the main house at Maison des Harmonies seamlessly blends historic charm with contemporary design. Originally a farmhouse dating back to the 1700s, a 21st-century sculptor revitalized the building, preserving its heritage while adding architecturally unique features such as the modern staircase and mezzanine level. The current owners undertook the project a few years ago, landscaping the grounds to create an idyllic retreat steeped in history.

Enter the 4-bedroom farmhouse through the impressive entrance hall, leading to an elegant dining area and cozy lounge with French windows opening onto the covered terrace. A high-ceilinged classic yet modern kitchen awaits, complete with a stylish kitchen island and a Wi-Fi-controlled pellet burner for added warmth, along with an adjoining TV lounge. Upstairs, beneath the eaves, discover four charming bedrooms, each named after famous singers, along with three en suite shower rooms and a family bathroom. The master bedroom, with its king-size double and large window, particularly stands out, inviting ample natural light into the room.

For larger groups of over 8 guests, the adjoining 2-bedroom villa is available to rent alongside the main farmhouse, accommodating up to 15 people across both houses. The smaller villa’s open-plan lounge and dining area feature a Smart TV with French, British, and International channels, with doors leading to a terrace offering al-fresco dining opportunities and scenic views. The well-equipped kitchen ensures convenience, while the two bedrooms provide comfortable accommodation options, along with a spacious family bathroom.

Rest assured, when booking the main farmhouse alone, the smaller villa will not be rented out separately, although there’s a small chance the hospitable yet discreet owners may be present.

Relax beneath the covered terrace for al-fresco meals or stroll over to the inviting swimming pool and its raised dining terrace, offering picturesque vistas of the Gascony hills, often likened to the ‘Tuscany of France’. Enjoy a glass of Armagnac or wine from nearby vineyards while exploring the one-hectare estate, which features a large natural pond with a 120m long path and offers tranquil spots for relaxation.

Marciac, just 5km away, offers a charming setting for exploring the region, whether on foot or by La Maison des Harmonies’ two electric bikes. Known for its historic center, weekly market, and lively cafes, Marciac truly comes alive during the ‘Jazz in Marciac’ festival, held over three weeks from late July, attracting music enthusiasts from around the globe.

Venture further afield to discover the Gers countryside through long walks, cycling excursions, and horseback riding adventures, or explore historic market towns and picturesque villages. A drive south leads to Tarbes and Lourdes in the Hautes-Pyrénées, offering a glimpse into the heart of southern France amidst stunning landscapes.
