It’s a delightful villa for a family or small group of friends who can make the most of the indoor and outdoor swimming pools, rooftop terrace, cinema cabine and four gorgeous en suite bedrooms.
Whether playing boules outside or sipping an aperitif beneath the covered terrace in the pretty garden, there is such an authentic ambience in this historic home. Take in the picturesque views from the rooftop terrace towards the surrounding woodland and countryside, cool off in the 11m long swimming pool and enjoy family feasts by the little fountain.
Inside, old meets new across the graceful interiors with a mélange of tasteful furnishings alongside artwork, beautiful bathrooms and other impressive features. There are four suites, each one so individual in style and some with sofa-beds, allowing flexible sleeping arrangements for up to 8 guests. Choose the master bedroom with its whirlpool bath, the Corsican-themed double, the purple-hued suite with a round bed or the fourth bedroom with décor inspired by South Africa.
Guests will adore the indoor swimming pool with its counter-current swimming feature and hammam as well as the garden cabin with a home-cinema, perfect for movie evenings or unusually rainy days.
As well as the small local village within walking distance (partially along country lanes), you can easily reach Maussane-les-Alpilles, a 5-minute drive away, for gastronomic delights including excellent olive oil, and Les Baux-de-Provence, one of France’s ‘Plus Beaux Villages’ – head there early to avoid the summer day-trippers.
Drive to Saint-Rémy-de-Provence for its Wednesday morning market and to follow the footsteps of Van Gogh or learn all about the great artist in the beautiful town of Arles. You could also spend the day soaking up the charm of Avignon or Aix-en-Provence, visiting the perched villages of the Luberon or discovering the beauty of the Camargue with its outdoor adventures and the most incredible scenery.

Location:
Maison Floriane enjoys a picturesque setting close to a small village in Les Alpilles, located in the Bouches-du-Rhône department of southern France.
In a semi-residential setting in the countryside, you can wander down the country roads into the heart of the typically Provençal village in around 500m. It’s a very charming place which is home to a small grocery store, butchers, café and bakery. A well-regarded French bistro is also close to the village centre.
Just a five-minute drive away, Maussane-les-Alpilles is another lovely place to visit with its pretty shops and restaurants whether you feel like a pizza or a more gastronomic affair – it’s the perfect spot for a leisurely lunch or evening meal.
Les Baux-de-Provence (6km), officially classified as one of France’s ‘Plus Beaux Villages’, is a beautiful village full of charm with its historic chateau and stunning views of the surrounding landscapes of Les Alpilles. Keen walkers will love the many trails around the village – stop off in farms to try local cheeses or the region’s famous olive oil produced from the many groves across the Baux valley.
Saint-Rémy-de-Provence (13km) is another delight of this region, especially on a Wednesday morning when its bustling market takes place which attracts visitors from across Provence. Follow Van Gogh’s footsteps in this artistic town and visit the fascinating monastery, Saint-Paul de Mausole, where Starry Night was painted.
Arles (17km) is also famous for its Van Gogh connections as well as its rich heritage, interesting architecture and Roman remains. Heading north, the small historic city of Avignon (37km) is worthy of a day trip to its UNESCO World Heritage sites, or perhaps you may prefer to venture south towards Aix-en-Provence (66km) and the landscapes that inspired other great artists such as Paul Cézanne.
Not forgetting the gorgeous scenery of the Luberon region, home to picture-perfect perched villages including Ménerbes, Gordes and Lourmarin, all reached in around an hour by car. Then there’s also the captivating Camargue, even closer, with its lagoons, wild horses and pink flamingos.
