This fine family villa in Les Alpilles offers space and style surrounded by authentic Provençal gardens with a heated swimming pool, just a short walk (partly via country lanes) from a picturesque hilltop village.
Mas Jocelyne is a light-filled home which has been cleverly designed to make the most of the outdoor grounds whilst also offering ample space for up to 10 guests. As well as the vast open-plan lounge and beautiful kitchen-diner, guests will adore the tranquil ambience of the conservatory-style salon with sliding windows bring the outside in. Five pretty bedrooms are scattered across the two floors, each one with their own shower or bathroom, and there is air-conditioning throughout for the benefit of everyone.
You are surrounded by the sights and aromas of Provence as you relax in the garden with its many olive trees as well as rosemary, lavender, thyme and oleander. Find a picture-perfect terrace on which to enjoy breakfast, make the most of the sauna in the pool house and swim in the heated swimming pool in this glorious setting.
Indeed, it is hard to imagine that a gorgeous hilltop village is just a 1km stroll away (partly along country lanes), just perfect for fetching morning croissants from the boulangerie, lunches out on café terraces or evening meals in a charming bistro. As you climb its cobbled lanes, the views from the top are wonderful – no wonder a small handful of A-list celebrities have been known to buy houses here. Don’t miss the lovely Friday morning market where you can pick up all sorts of local delights.
Spend time discovering the charm of artistic Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, taste the delicious summer melons of Cavaillon, visit the famous village of Les Baux-de-Provence and enjoy lunch out in Maussane-les-Alpilles, known for its incredible olive oil. Hire bikes to cycle along country lanes surrounded by olive groves, farms, summer sunflowers and pine forests or make the most of the fantastic walking and hiking opportunities across Les Alpilles.
Elsewhere, go antique shopping in L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, drive to the perched villages of the Luberon and visit Avignon’s UNESCO World Heritage sites, just some of the other highlights of this captivating part of Provence.

Location:
Mas Jocelyn is situated just 1km south of a gorgeous Provençal village in Les Alpilles Regional Nature Park, part of the Bouches-du-Rhône department of southern France.
In an area of olive groves and neighbouring villas, you can reach the edge of the hilltop village by foot in around 15 minutes, partly along country lanes. It is such a charming place to potter around with its café terraces and inviting restaurants – no wonder A-list celebrities have been known to buy property here to escape the French Riviera paparazzi. The weekly market takes place on a Friday morning whilst there are plenty of shops for groceries and other gastronomic delights. Climb to the very top of the old village for gorgeous views of the scenery around you.
Follow Van Gogh’s footsteps in artistic Saint-Rémy-de-Provence (14km) and don’t miss its Wednesday morning market which attracts visitors from across the region. Heading south, Les Baux-de-Provence (23km) is Les Alpilles’ most iconic village with its stunning chateau whilst Maussane-les-Alpilles and Paradou, both just under half an hour away, are delightful places to stop off for lunch surrounded by endless olive groves and with the most beautiful scenery. Of course, this region is loved by walkers, horse-riding enthusiasts, keen cyclists and even rock-climbers.
Heading east towards the mesmerising landscapes of the Luberon, Cavaillon (15km) is an interesting town to visit with a rich heritage and also famed for its delicious melons which you will find across local seasonal markets. Highlights of the Luberon include vineyards, incredible walking and cycling trails, gastronomic restaurants and idyllic perched villages such as Ménerbes (30km), Gordes (32km) and Roussillon (40km), all three classified as ‘Plus Beaux Villages’ in France.
The small and historic city of Avignon (38km) is another fine day out with its UNESCO World Heritage sites, Pont d’Avignon and the Palais des Papes. As well as exploring the city’s markets, shops and restaurants, hire bikes and ride over to île de la Barthelasse, France’s largest river island, for peaceful cycling and wonderful views across to old Avignon.
