Perched above the sea and set in the most beautiful Mediterranean grounds, Villa Contemporaine is for guests seeking remote tranquility and nature with stunning sea and mountain views, not far from the Désert des Agriates and the bay of St Florent.
A rocky path leads down towards the sea and in less than five minutes you can be by a little sandy beach. You also have the option of bathing in the elegant swimming pool, set above the main villa, with its stone terrace and glorious sea vistas. Then wander down the steps to enjoy a coffee beneath the shady pine, soak up the sun on one of the guest bedrooms’ terraces or head up to the al-fresco dining terrace for lunch served by the cook.
Indeed, guests benefit from the services of a cook who can prepare breakfast, lunch and dinner if you desire – you just have to pay for the food and drink. Housekeeping is also included most days, allowing you to truly relax in this welcoming villa with its inviting living spaces and wonderful views.
Sleeping up to eight guests, find three pretty bedrooms on the lower floor of the main villa, each one with a private shower room and patio access, alongside the lounge, dining area and kitchen upstairs. A 70m2 master bedroom is in its own separate annexe with a private terrace offering yet more gorgeous vistas.
Within a 15-minute drive, partly via an unmade road, you can be experiencing the charm of St Florent with its picturesque café terraces, restaurants and bars. Stop off for a coffee and admire the boats in the harbour or head to the town’s beach, Plage de la Roya, for sandy shores and seasonal watersports.
From St Florent you can catch a boat to two of Corsica’s most exquisite beaches, Plage du Lotu and Plage de Saleccia, both only accessible by foot or boat. The most experienced hikers may opt to walk there from their holiday home, following the dusty trails through the Désert des Agriates, taking in magnificent coastal scenery en route.
Then there is the beauty of Cap Corse with its captivating landscapes and coastline, the vineyards of Patrimonio and characterful little villages such as Oletta, Nonza and Erbalunga, just some of the many highlights of the northern part of Corsica, an island unsurprisingly known as L’Ile de Beauté.

Location:
West of St Florent in northern Corsica, Villa Contemporaine enjoys a remote location 35km from Bastia Airport.
Part of a large domaine (featuring only six other villas scattered apart), reached via an unmade road (a suitable car is needed), a rocky path leads down to the sea in less than five minutes where you will find a small sandy bay.
St Florent is around a 15-minute drive away (partly via unmade road) or keen walkers could reach the small harbourside town in 45 minutes. Once you arrive, it’s such a pleasant place to stroll around – stop off for a coffee in a pretty café or look out for boats coming in and out of the marina. The town’s main beach, Plage de la Roya, is popular with families and watersport enthusiasts in the summer months.
Seasonal ferries and boats depart from St Florent towards two of Corsica’s most famous beaches, Plage du Lotu and Plage de Saleccia, both part of the remote and beautiful Désert des Agriates and only accessible on foot or by sea. The most experienced of hikers could reach the beaches on foot, following the remote trails, passing Genovese towers and stunning coastal scenery.
Furthermore, take time to visit the Cap Corse whether admiring the captivating landscapes as you follow walking paths or driving around the peninsula, coming across rugged scenery, little fishing ports and vineyards. The picturesque villages of Nonza (25km) and Erbalunga (40km) are especially delightful.
Wine-lovers won’t want to miss Patrimonio (15km), home to Corsica’s first wine appellation, to try Vermentino whites and Nielluccio reds. Take time to stop off in the characterful village of Oletta (13km) where you can appreciate the beauty of Corsica’s breathtaking interiors.
