DETAILS & AMENITIES

Once the Venice home of designer Hubert de Givenchy, this unique and stylish three-bedroom apartment is the perfect accommodation for anyone who is looking to stay somewhere really special during their stay in one of the most beautiful and romantic cities in the world. Breathtakingly elegant throughout, and overflowing with stunning design features and luxurious furnishings, Apartment Vivina accommodates up to six guests, and promises a relaxing and memorable stay, with a light fresh decor throughout, with whitewashed walls, beamed ceilings, exotic prints, and high-end amenities.

Fully air-conditioned throughout, this sleek and comfortable property is set over the top two storeys of the palazzo, close to both the Peggy Guggenheim Collection and the Punta Della Dogana Centre of Contemporary Art. The apartment interior is shrined, paying homage to Audrey Hepburn, Givenchy’s friend and muse who personally selected some of the fabrics that embellish the walls here. There is a bright and spacious sitting-room-come-library, featuring handsomely crafted cabinets and sumptuous sofas for sinking into with a good book, all overlooking the lush neighbouring gardens.

The master bedroom is located on this floor, showcasing candy lemon shades, white wooden flooring, and stylish furniture. The walls are adorned with black and white photographs of Hepburn and Givenchy, and a large, plush double bed promises guests a restful and relaxing night’s sleep. The ensuite bathroom offers extra added luxury, with marble flooring and a freestanding roll-top bath with rain-shower. This beautiful and elegant space also benefits from an inbuilt vanity unit – perfect for a pampering session before hitting the historic Venice streets.

A curved staircase leads to the next floor, where you’ll discover ‘The Audrey Hepburn Room’ – a double room decked out in tapestries chosen by the legend herself and giving way to stunning vistas of St. Mark’s Campanile and the domes of Santa Maria Della Salute. You’ll also find an adjacent second sitting room; ‘The Chinese Room’, highly patterned with a sloping beamed ceiling and wooden floors. This stunning space is full of characterful decor that includes an ornamental bird cage with glass birds, and a plush corner sofa offers the perfect place for early morning relaxation. There’s also a marble-set bathroom with shower facilities.

One of the most stylish and innovative rooms at Apartment Vivina is its large and opulent kitchen, built beneath the eaves and resplendent in dazzling white – the perfect place to cook and entertain. Large, cantilevered dining tables run through the centre of the room – ideal for gathering together with loved ones to enjoy a delicious Italian feast rustled up using modern, high-end appliances that include integrated ovens, a coffee machine, toaster, and a walk-in fridge-freezer.

At the furthest end of this glorious floor there is a semi-private suite that includes a luxurious third sitting room. Snug and cosy and decked out in nautical stripes and a large u-shaped sofa, this charming room is the ideal spot for snuggling up with a cuppa and soaking up the atmosphere of this stunning apartment. The third bedroom is located here, featuring fresh, raspberry shades, a double bed, and beamed ceilings, and showcasing more incredible views of the canal and the campanile. Guests staying in this room have use of a pristine marble bathroom with modern shower facilities.

As if all this luxury and decadence wasn’t enough, Apartment Vivina also features a fully furnished Atlanta roof terrace, a wonderful spot for enjoying breakfast while taking in the delightful Venetian roofscapes. Guests staying at the property can also enjoy the apartment’s shared garden, with its soft, well-tended lawn, climbing wisteria, shrubs, and holm oak tree.

Location:

La Casa di Hubert Givenchy is situated in Dorsoduro in central Venice, an area known for less tourist-footfall and cheaper prices than some parts of the city. There is plenty to see and do here, with the Gallerie dell’Accademia being one of the most popular attractions. Created by Napoleon, the gallery houses some of Venice’s most important paintings and comprises three buildings which were once used for religious purposes before becoming part of the museum complex.

Italian food is famous around the world, and in addition to the classic pasta, pizza and gelato, Venice is also famous for its delicious seafood dishes. You’ll find plenty of stunning places to dine along the canal, as well as some gorgeously chic rooftop restaurants. Some of the best places to eat in the region can be found at the Peggy Guggenheim gallery, which houses work by some of the most influential American and European artists of the 20th century.

A trip to Venice wouldn’t be complete without a visit to one of the city’s beautiful palaces, and Ca Ressonico is a luxurious and sophisticated choice, featuring sumptuous rooms and frescoes, and delicate marble staircases that offer guests a delightful taste of what life was once like for the wealthy residents of Venice.

Oliver recommends taking a trip to nearby St. Mark’s Square during your stay, a more populated and cosmopolitan area of Venice that is rich in its own exciting and interesting attractions. One of the most famous piazzas in all of Italy, and which Napoleon once called the ‘drawing room of Europe’, this incredibly beautiful spot is an absolute must-see while you are in Venice, and it is here that you’ll find the famous St. Mark’s Basilica, the jewel of the square and undoubtedly one of the most beautiful churches you’ll ever see.

The basilica is full of stunning mosaics, relics of St. Mark himself, and perhaps most famous of all, the four bronze horses (that are made of copper!). Tours of the church interior are free of charge, but it is worth knowing that queues to enter this popular attraction can exceed 45 minutes at peak times, so Oliver recommends showing up early!
