At this beautiful 5600-square-metre (1.4 acre) private estate on the banks of the river l’Ouvèze, you’re just a few minutes’ walk away from the centre of the enchanting Provençal village of Vaison la Romaine, along quiet country lanes.
This family home comprises a main house and an annex just a few steps from one another and set back 50 meters from the small road beside the river. The main house, a 200-sqm traditional Provençal stone mas, comfortably sleeps up to 8 guests, and the smaller 100-sqm annex house comfortably sleeps a further 4 people in two bedrooms.
Both houses have their own patio areas, with splendid views of the chateau across the river to the west and towards Mont Ventoux to the east. The private pool terrace is a beautiful paved area with sun loungers, surrounded by fragrant lavender bushes and pink oleanders, and overlooked by an atmospheric outdoor dining and activity area. Here, you can play petanque or ping pong, dine al fresco, or just relax in the hammock or on one of the loungers. From these garden areas guests can take in unobstructed views of the hilltop medieval castle that sits high atop the opposite bank of the river l’Ouvèze.
Just a few hundred metres down the river lies the historic Roman bridge, and at a similar distance you’ll also find the ancient hilltop medieval city, along with two major Roman antiquities sites right in the centre of town. Also in the centre of Vaison la Romaine you’ll find the pedestrian shopping streets and the main square, with a great selection of shops, cafes and restaurants, where you can relax and take in the atmosphere of Provence.
The latest generation steel-look windows give the villa a sleeker profile, while providing more light and the highest level of energy efficiency.
