Set across two traditional farmhouses which have been joined together, Les Deux Mas offers spacious accommodation ideal for both families and friends. There are two living rooms, a wonderful family lounge with toys and games, a convivial kitchen-diner with doors leading out to the gardens and eight inviting bedrooms, all with glorious views of the surrounding gardens and Luberon landscapes beyond. The air-conditioned houses have been renovated beautifully, using carefully selected materials that pay great respect to the region’s heritage and soul.
Outside, enjoy al-fresco feasts in the shade of century-old trees, play tennis on your private court, picnic on the vast lawns and cool off from the summer sun in the swimming pool. This is Provençal living at its best across four hectares of landscaped gardens with towering pines, little stone walls, terracotta pots of summer color and olive trees.
L’Isle-sur-Sorgue is such a joy to explore with its picturesque branches of the Sorgue river, riverside café terraces, ancient waterwheels and charming antique shops – don’t miss the Sunday morning farmers’ market and huge brocante.
You are perfectly positioned for exploring so much of Provence with timeless hilltop villages set amongst landscapes of vineyards, lavender fields, woodland and orchards – it’s also a paradise for walkers and cyclists across the Vaucluse plains, Luberon landscapes and mighty Mont Ventoux. Canoe or kayak along the river from Fontaine-de-Vaucluse or spend a day fishing for trout on the banks of the Sorgue.
Soak up the ambience at Luberon farmers’ markets in Gordes, Ménerbes or Apt, dine out in high-end restaurants, visit the wineries of the Rhône valley or admire the UNESCO World Heritage sites of Avignon in this gloriously contrasting part of Provence.

Location:
Les Deux Mas is set in beautiful grounds around 5km south of L’Isle-sur-Sorgue, a charming town in the Vaucluse department of Provence.
Like an island surrounded by branches of the Sorgue river, L’Isle-sur-Sorgue is sure to enchant you with its waterwheels, picturesque riverside restaurants and terraces, delightful antique shops and famous Sunday morning Provençal market and brocante. Canoe or kayak down the river from its source in Fontaine-de-Vaucluse or arrange a fishing permit for summer trout fishing. Look out for a number of festivities across the town including Corso Nautique, a magical water carnival in late July.
The archetypal villages of the Luberon are also within easy reach – Gordes and Ménerbes are both within a 20-minute drive or head a little further into this mesmerizing region, passing landscapes of forests, vineyards and orchards, as far as Bonnieux, Lourmarin or the historic market town of Apt.
Wine-lovers can visit the wineries of the Luberon or drive further north towards Châteauneuf-du-Pape (40km) and the vineyards of the Rhône valley.
Admire the summer lavender fields close to Gordes, especially at Abbaye Notre-Dame de Sénanque, discover the lavender museum in nearby Coustellet or head further afield to the lavender farms and landscapes around Sault, just under an hour by car.
Keen cyclists can find a number of wonderful trails across the Vaucluse plains and Luberon or you could also challenge yourselves to the famous Tour de France routes around Mont Ventoux – the pretty village of Bédoin (40km), a mecca for cyclists, is a good place to start. Of course, there are also many stunning walking and hiking opportunities across this part of Provence.
For a more sedate day out, drive or catch the train to Avignon, home to two UNESCO World Heritage sites as well as many atmospheric markets, traditional wine bars and excellent restaurants.
Arrival time is at 5.00 p.m. and departure time is at 11.00 a.m.
