The intimate and comfortable atmosphere is dedicated to the pleasures of dining, with a large dining table and interconnected cellar with over 100 labels of wine, fine cheeses, and cured meats.

Adjacent to this, guests will find a fully equipped kitchen, customed designed and made with Trani marble and ancient elm wood. With a range of modern appliances, ample counterspace and floods of natural light this is a kitchen for culinary enthusiasts whether you’re tossing together a Mediterranean Salad or preparing a holiday feast for family and friends. Off the kitchen guests will find a small, shaded terrace with an al fresco dining setting and breathtaking views of the Barolo hills and Alps.

The rooms offer a variety of sleeping arrangements, from king-sized beds which are convertible to doubles, and queen-sized beds. Each bedroom comes complete with views of Monviso or the internal garden, and ensuite bathrooms with sumptuous walk-in showers.

Stepping outside into the meticulously landscaped garden, complete with a shaded terrace perfect for al fresco dining, guests will find themselves nestled within the home walls and protected from prying eyes. The garden also boasts a swimming pool and solarium. The first part of the garden is dedicated to aromatic herbs, the second to hydrangeas and peonies, while in a third a centuries-old vine climbs its way up to the first-floor gallery. The shimmering pool invites guests to bask in the warmth of the Italian sun or indulge in a refreshing swim.

Location:

Well-situated in the picturesque town of Monforte d’Alba, Villa Muna is in the heart of The Langhe, a region famous for its wines, cheeses, and truffles. Made a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2014, the Langhe and its hills are a spectacular destination for wine lovers, foodies, hikers, and cyclists. The region is particularly famed for its Barolo and Barbaresco wine varieties.

Monforte d’Alba is the perfect base from which to taste and explore Piedmont, but it is also a delightful spot in and of itself, especially for wine lovers and foodies. Grappolo d’Oro is a restaurant on the main piazza that is the perfect place for a long lunch or a leisurely dinner. Similarly, Le Case della Saracca, a restaurant carved into the hill with caverns for rooms and a marvellous wine collection. Of course, there is also the Michelin starred Marc Lanteri Restaurant located in the stunning Castello di Grinzane Cavour.

Just outside of Monforte are the world-famous rolling hills of Barolo where world-class hiking takes place between vineyards. So put on your hiking boots or your tasting hat, or both, and head out to explore the local vineyards. There’s Simone Scaletta (6-minute drive), one of the few biodynamic vineyards in the region, and others in easy reach are Cantina La Briacca winery (4-minute drive), Pecchenino societa Agricola (6-minute drive), and Azienda Agricola Abbona Marziano (8-minute drive). Which is to say there’s no shortage, so take your pick!

Turin (60-minute drive) is the closest major city and certainly worth the visit. Boasting grand boulevards, classical ruins, world-leading museums, and grand cafes, the capital of Piedmont is like a niche, Italian version of Paris. After visiting some of the main squares like Piazza San Carlo, there is a rich and eclectic offering of sights and activities on offer. From the Cattedrale di San Giovanni Battista which houses a shroud said to have enveloped the body of Christ, to the Mercato di Porta Palazzo, the largest open-air market in Europe, with fabulous food stalls and attractive prices.
