Live like royalty when you stay at this beautiful château in the Loire Valley. Built by a French nobleman over two centuries ago, Château de Flora offers a unique taste of history alongside fantastic amenities and great charm.
Be amazed by the grandiose living spaces on the ground floor. The main salon showcases its 16th century tapestries on the wood-panelled walls whilst antique furnishings surround the marble fireplace. The second salon is ideal for delightful evenings playing cards or listening to music; in the summer open up the French windows leading to the terrace and gardens. Enjoy fine dining with family and friends in the majestic dining room after creating a feast in the brilliantly equipped kitchen. Even kids have been thought of with a lovely children’s corner featuring toys and games.
Up to 13 guests can sleep in six beautifully decorated bedrooms, each one strikingly individual – will you stay in one of the charming bedrooms with its own en suite bathroom decorated with Toile de Jouy wallpaper, the pretty double with its own library cabinet of English and French books or the delightful twin looking over the French gardens? Don’t miss the little chapel on the second floor as well, another one of the enchanting attractions of this home.
Set in over seventy acres of parkland, Château de Flora features a heated swimming pool, private tennis court, table tennis, boules and badminton – enough to keep all the family entertained. Explore the arboretum of over 200 species of rare trees, pick flowers in the walled kitchen garden and relax by the fishing pond.
If you can tear yourself away from the château then you’ll find wine tours, historic villages, canoeing on the Loire and some of France’s most magnificent castles close by. Try local cuisine at the Michelin starred restaurant 10 minutes away or visit the atmospheric on a Thursday morning in Ancenis. The Mont of Saint-Michel day trip is a must and The Puy du Fou medieval park in Les Epesses is fun for all.
