It’s time again to see what’s going on at your favorite Time & Place destinations! March heralds the first whispers of spring and with it brings events fit for families, foodies, nature lovers, sports fans, and adventure seekers. Where will you spend your Spring Break?

• Beaver Creek: Beaver Creek has seen abundant snowfall this year and the powder is sublime. If skiing is on your Spring Break wish list, March is the perfect time to visit this gorgeous mountain town. On March 1st you’ll find the 11th annual Talons Challenge that hosts true ski and snowboard experts as they traverse over 26,000 vertical feet of fresh snow. Participate in this adrenaline-filled event or toast the safe return of these daredevils at the bottom of the mountain.

• If the kids are in tow, the family-friendly Spring Fest runs for 3 weeks and offers events ranging from Irish dancers, twilight snowshoeing, live music, nature lectures, and parades. Since this event runs for more than 4 weeks, there’s plenty of time to join in on the fun! Spring Fest runs from March 8-April 19.

* New York City: Foodies, rejoice! If a visit to New York City is on your agenda, there’s no better time than the first week in March when over 300 restaurants curate special prix fixe multi-course menus for both lunch and dinner. Diners can indulge in top-tier restaurants for a minimal investment and taste their way around the city. NYC Restaurant Week runs February 16-March 7.

• Kids and their parents will enjoy the New York International Children’s Film Festival and the 100 films it screens in theaters across the city. Introduce your children to different cultures from the comfort of a theater seat as films from 35 countries are participating in the festival. If your little ones are inspired by what they’ve seen, there are also workshops and classes to get your soon-to-be Spielberg on the road to their first Oscar. The NYICFF begins March 7 and runs through March 30.

• The luck ‘o the Irish must be with you if you happen to be in the city on St. Patrick’s Day! The oldest and largest St. Patrick’s Day Parade predates the signing of the Declaration of Independence as it began in 1762. The parade runs 35 blocks down 5th Avenue and we’re sure you can find a pub or 2 along the route to raise a glass of (green) beer. Sláinte! The Saint Patrick’s Day Parade is held on March 14.

• La Quinta: Just 15 minutes from La Quinta is one of the biggest tennis events in the world, March 3-16. This year the Indian Wells Masters, or BNP Paribas Open, has a brand new 8,000 seat stadium from which to watch the world’s top tennis stars. The tournament is one of the most attended in the world, so don’t miss your chance to bask in the sun and see the greats exchange serves.

• Hollywood Hills: Although Hollywood’s biggest award night also occurs this month, it might be difficult for most of us to score a ticket. An easier way to get up close with your favorite television and film stars is the annual PaleyFest which features a series of screenings followed by discussions and Q&A sessions with cast and crew members. PaleyFest begins March 13 and goes until the 28.

• Klosters: If Spring Break is made more appealing with the addition of snowy peaks instead of sandy beaches, Klosters, Switzerland is an unforgettable escape. March 7 marks the 80th annual Parsenn Derby which is the oldest ski race in Switzerland. The event draws professionals and amateurs alike and features individual and team events. 3 days of races means 3 days of exciting fun!

• Known as winter’s biggest party, SnowJam welcomes top Rap and Hip Hop performers from the continent and beyond. After parties include local DJs spinning tunes until the early morning hours. A memorable musical experience in a dramatic setting, SnowJam falls on March 15.
