One of my most memorable meals

After rave reviews from my daughter and son-in-law, who stayed in Time & Place’s Buenos Aires penthouse, Recoleta Refined, my wife and I chose to dine at Casa Coupage in Palermo Soho — a chic, trendy Buenos Aires neighborhood. Thankfully, our Buenos Aires Concierge, Ariel, joined us, adding all the flavor of a local with the tastes and knowledge of the Gold Medal chef that he is.

Casa Coupage is a “closed restaurant” in Buenos Aires – it’s only open for a few meals a week, and has no external signage. Like the speakeasies during prohibition, there’s simply a closed door, but once the door opens, a rich experience completely devoid of kitsch awaits. With Ariel’s translation and gentle nudging, we felt included in the natural experience.

Without pretense, Casa Coupage delivered an incredible meal. First-class cuisine in a private atmosphere that was only heightened by Ariel’s brilliant food and wine suggestions. The result was an intimate feel in a great setting and we cannot wait to return.
