In the very heart of historical St Germain des Prés, this unique apartment retains the charm of its history. (The mansion was originally built for Henri the IV in 1595).In one of the best locations of Paris, backing the Seine River, le Louvre, Notre Dame. In the heart of Saint Germain des Prés, in the 6th arrondissement. This 1 bedroom apartment is spaciously organized with an area of over 85 square meters (1 000sq.ft ), on the ground floor of a 16th century classified building. It is organized in 2 levels; On the 1st level are the entrance, bedroom and living room, and below is the 16th century splendid vaulted cellar which hosts a kitchen and dining area, a walk in dressing, bathroom and shower room, laundry room and toilets. Pass the entrance hall and enter the living area, furnished with upscale contemporary furniture. Original 16th century exposed stones were left uncovered on part of the walls. Sofabed can convert into a queen size bed. The 2 hand blown glass scultures are courtesy of the Alex Menem Art Gallery. Eventhough we are on the ground floor, the bay windows and the open view allow sunlight to flow in. The living faces a paved private inside courtyard, away from the street noise and activities. A series of small trees lined up against the windows outside add up to the feeling of the relaxing and quiet countryside atmosphere. For your comfort, all bay windows are equipped with electric shutters.Adjacent to the living room is the cosy bedroom. Bed is a king size electric adjustable which can convert into 2 twins at your convenience. A walk in dressing room is available by the bathroom area in addition to the small closet. Appreciate the traditional charm of the superb 16th century vaulted cellar which hosts the kitchen and dining area. The massive oak wood dinng table can welcome 8 guests. The stone walls are dressed with a serie of photographies from Uwe Ommerhttp://www.uweommer.eu (a 1000 families collection). A kilim rug warms up the genuine restaured ceramic tiles. On the kitchen side, the cooking area is nested in a special niche and hosts an oversize modern stove. In order to preserve the character of the impressive stone walls and vaulted ceiling, the kitchen has been designed in sober and simple lines. Nonetheless, it offers modern comfort and is equipped with all appliances and tools, hidden behind the custom made floor- to-ceiling closets. An antic iron wine rack serves as the kitchen bar. On the main floor, the iron spiral staircase leads to the vaulted cellar in a few steps. Breathtaking bathroom , a mix of modern fixtures and old stones. Next to the bathtub, a stand in full size shower, equipped with a fixed and a hand unit.
