Perched on the slope of Black Point overlooking 7 miles of coastline of Eastern Oahu, this gem was once the home of renowned musician Martin Denny, master of 'Exotica' in the 1950s. The home, built in 1930, faces the surf and Koko Head and Koko Crater, and takes full advantage of the prevailing trade winds. The original period details in the home are enhanced by a complete renovation in 2007. There are 3 bedrooms, each with en suite bath, and sleeps five. One bedroom with a queen bed, one with a king and a single twin Hawaiian 'Pune'. White water surf views are enjoyed from nearly every room and the house has a 'WOW' factor of a 'next stop Japan' view that is extraordinary. The gated community of Black Point has a private oceanside pool at the surf break, which is simply breathtaking. The home, comfortable, yet elegant, represents the best that Oahu has to offer.

The views from this home are among the best in Honolulu. The views are an ever changing interplay of light and color from Diamond Head to Koko Head over the Maunalua Bay and the beaches of Kahala. Mauka to Makai, from the mountains to the sea.

The walls and Ceiling are Canec, made from sugar cane and is no longer available. The canec is beautifully preserved in this home and painted luminescent colors that are drawn from the Mountains and the  Sea..Mauka and Makai. The classic  1930′s wall trim detailing is Hawaiiana at its best. Notice the horizon line of the blue ocean as it slices through the house, it is truly extraordinary to see.

The beautiful “coffee bean” painted wood floors are the perfect contrast to the island tones of the walls and the explosion of light and color from the view.

It is quite an experience to cook and eat in this kitchen with the whales breaching just outside the reed below. It is simply extraordinary. Oh yes, and Sub Zero Refrigerator, Viking gas range, Fisher Paykel dishwasher,  Vintage Stainless  nickel counter tops and beautiful custom vintage styled cabinets. Wonderful to entertain your guests in.

The Master Suite is one two ensuite Master Bedrooms with gorgeous views. This suite has a dressing closet and separate entrance off of the private deck that leads to the garden. The Views are from Koko Head to Diamond Head from the breaking surf on the reef to the Mountains above Kahala.

The vintage style master bath features a “tub with a view” and two sinks with italian marble countertops and limestone tile with  bidet. Authentic vintage wall panels and cabinets.

The Garden Views are charming and “Honolulu Blue” is the perfect color for the Guest Room with Bath with a Separate Entry off of the Garden Entry Court.  The colors for this room were inspired by the painting of Hawaiian canoes on the wall. The Bathroom is vintage and modern at the same time combining modern fixtures with vintage style wall paneling and towel cabinet.

When you see this for the first time it is simply “jaw dropping”. A moon scape of lava rock contrasted against the brilliant blue of the Pacific Ocean. A sea filled pool with crashing surf.
