The building at Rue Du Four was constructed in 1800, and is immediately recognizable by the red door of the entrance. The apartment encompasses the entire fourth floor. Upon entering for the first time, passing through the double front doors into the foyer, one is struck by the amount of light coming through the south facing windows of the salon and dining room, which look out over the Rue du Four.

It is difficult to convey in photos the comfortable and intimate feeling the rooms evoke with their beautiful woodwork and plasterwork. There are fireplaces in the living room, the master bedroom, and one guest bedroom. The open kitchen and the bathrooms are done in a warm toned marble. The master suite has a cedar dressing room leading to the master bath. The scale of the rooms feels just right.

One can only imagine waking up to a freshly baked croissant and café au lait before setting out to explore the city, and later, coming home, having walked and walked, exploring miles of her streets. In short, this home is a perfect warm and cozy retreat in the center of Paris’ most dynamic neighborhood.
