FAQs

Other luxury vacation services charge a membership fee and annual dues. Does Time & Place have any of these fees?
No. Time & Place lists prices much the same way hotels do. Our prices are based upon the property you select and the dates and length of your stay. There are no additional charges or membership fees to book through Time & Place.

Do your prices fluctuate depending on season?
Each property offered by Time & Place has weekly and nightly rates that vary throughout the year, depending on the season. In destinations such as California, Hawaii, Mexico, and Florida, high season rates are in effect from December through April. The high season rates for our destinations in Europe, as well as Nantucket, Washington DC, and Palm Springs, are in effect during the spring and summer months. Most Time & Place properties have higher rates during the Christmas and New Years holiday season.

Do you have a minimum length of stay at your properties?
The minimum length of stay at a Time and Place property varies depending on the location. However, the majority of our properties have either a 3-night or 7-night minimum. Time & Place can sometimes arrange exceptions to the posted guidelines; please contact us to inquire.

Are any of your properties appropriate for large groups?
Yes, many of our homes are the perfect setting for large gatherings such as family reunions and corporate events. We will be happy to assist you in finding the property that best meets your needs.

Are your rental prices determined by the number of people staying at a property? Are there limits to the number of people that can stay at a particular property?
The prices of Time & Place rentals, as posted on our website, reflect the fee for the entire home and not per person. Unless noted otherwise, each home has a maximum number of guests allowed based on 2 people per bedroom. Please note that all prices and details are subject to change, so confirm at the time of booking.

Are there tax and service charges for your properties?
Most destinations require a mandatory government tax, which ranges from 10% to 15% depending on the location. These charges will be reflected in your contract and must be paid along with the rental fee.

Do you require a Security or Telephone Deposit?
A security deposit equal to 20% of your rental fee will be held against your designated credit card. This will be used to pay for any damages incurred during your stay, and for requested services such as town car service and telephone charges.

What is your policy on gratuity?
Leaving a gratuity for the staff at your destination is at the guest’s discretion and should be commensurate with the level of service received.

When are payments due for my Time and Place rental?
Half of your total payment is due when you sign your contract for a Time and Place rental. The remaining half of your payment is due 120 days prior to your arrival at one of the Time and Place properties.

What is your Cancellation policy?
Cancellations made more than 120 days before your arrival will be charged a 15% cancellation fee on their reservation. Cancellations made within 120 days of your arrival will not receive a refund unless the property can be rebooked for your specified dates.

Are Food Costs included in the rental fee?
The costs of food and beverages are not included with your rental, even for those homes that include a chef or cook on staff. Your private concierge will be happy to stock your home with the food and beverages of your choice.
